Irving Teen Court seeks volunteers
By Ryan Haggerty and Tribune reporter July 30, Adult volunteers serve as trainers, advisors and coordinators of the teen courts; some courts have a small paid staff. The program is constantly recruiting both adult and youth volunteers for the program and is seeking local partnerships with businesses and other community agencies to broaden the scope of the program. No racism, sexism or any sort of -ism that is degrading to another person. Upon completion of the training, the volunteers will be part of an actual Court hearing by serving in the roles of defense attorney, prosecuting attorney and jurors.
